Is Your Company Being Anti-Social?

It’s been about 3 or so years since everyone started talking about Facebook, Twitter and all of the rest of the social media sites have invaded our lives. How has your company pivoted in this new arena of corporate openness? If you are like many companies, you have accepted social media for all of the positive elements that it can bring to your company and even your corporate culture.

Companies like Marshalls, Macy’s, Threadless and more are now fully embracing Facebook. The pharmaceutical companies have gotten in on the act with Nexium and Prevacid both on Facebook. Just about every kind of company, both B2B and B2C have made some sort of entrance into the social media world. The important thing to note is that many companies still haven’t taken the leap yet.

Many companies think that their product or service isn’t “social-worthy”. After all, who is going to look on Facebook for something like an oil change? Well, Big Rapids Service Center is now on Facebook. Do you need some solar panels for your home or business? Check out Wayne’s Solar on Facebook. Or are you looking for mutual funds? American Century’s Facebook Page may have the information that you are looking for today.

Social Media is getting to the “almost expected” mode, similar to websites. Would you even consider not having a website? I think not. It’s time to plan your social media marketing strategy too.
